Andrew Bishop honoured as UK’s top Contentious Probate Lawyer

We are delighted to announce that Andrew Bishop, Partner in our Disputed Wills & Trusts team, has won Contentious Practitioner of the Year at the British Wills & Probate Awards.

This national accolade, recognises Andrew’s exceptional legal acumen and skill.

Over the past few years, Andrew and his core team have brought five cases to trial; securing four victories, with a further judgment pending; as well winning and securing settlements on other cases pre-trial. Each trial raised interesting points of law and they illustrate Rothley’s innovative and strategic approach to complex probate disputes.

A key part of Andrew’s work has centred on predatory marriage reform. His advocacy contributed to the Law Commission recommending changes to the law; bringing us closer to better protection for vulnerable testators and their families.

Andrew is supported by one of the country’s largest and most experienced Disputed Wills & Trusts teams;  a group that itself won Contentious Probate Team of the Year at last year’s awards.

Congratulations to Andrew, the whole Disputed Wills & Trusts team, and all the shortlisted entrants.
