Charity of the Year Fundraising for Headway Birmingham & Solihull

As the year draws to a close, Rothley Law Limited are proud to reflect on our incredible journey supporting Headway Birmingham & Solihull, our chosen Charity of the Year.

We have been driven throughout the year to make a tangible difference to our local charity and thanks to the unwavering support of our teams, clients, professional network and the wider community, we have surpassed all expectations.

As you know, Headway Birmingham & Solihull works tirelessly to improve the lives of individuals affected by brain injuries, providing vital support and services for survivors and their families. Their mission resonated deeply with us, and it has been our privilege to contribute to their invaluable work over the past year.

Through a variety of fundraising events and initiatives, we aimed to not only raise funds but also increase awareness about the challenges faced by those living with brain injuries. We had a year full of quizzes, monthly challenges, sweepstakes and much more, and while every effort was meaningful, one standout achievement has to be our participation in the Three Peaks Challenge which we completed in September.

The Three Peaks Challenge was truly an unforgettable experience. Our determined group from Rothley Law took on the challenge to conquer the three highest peaks in Scotland, England, and Wales –Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike, and Snowdon – all within 24 hours. Despite the torrid weather conditions severely hampering our time, our challengers still finished in a very respectable 25 hours and 51 minutes and the adverse weather did nothing to dampen the success and completion of the challenge, which could easily failed at various points.

The gruelling journey tested the teams physical endurance and mental resilience, but it was fuelled by the knowledge that their efforts were making a real difference. Battling unpredictable weather, steep climbs, and sore muscles, the team’s camaraderie and shared purpose kept them moving forward.

Thanks to generous donations from colleagues, friends, and supporters, the Three Peaks Challenge alone raised a significant portion of our overall fundraising total. Every step climbed symbolised the support and hope we aimed to give to those navigating life after a brain injury.

We want to extend our heartfelt thanks to everyone who contributed to this year’s fundraising campaign. Whether you donated, participated, or simply shared our message, your support has been invaluable, in particular the Board at Rothley Law Limited who generously agreed to match the total sponsorship raised. A special thank you goes to PLG Consultants Ltd, in particular Phill Gill who not only supported us in our monthly challenges, but also shared the driving responsibilities and helped plan the challenge logistics and kept spirits up throughout.

To our incredible team at Rothley Law, thank you for going above and beyond – from organising events, committing to months of training and finally taking on the Three Peaks Challenge itself. The passion and dedication truly shone and was a true demonstration of the power of collective effort.

The final total raised was £12,680.00! This will contribute significantly to Headway Birmingham & Solihull’s programs, enabling them to provide critical services, therapy sessions, and resources to those in need and helping individuals and their families affected by brain injuries to rebuild their lives with dignity and hope.

While our official partnership as Charity of the Year is coming to an end, our support for Headway Birmingham & Solihull will continue. Their work will remain close to our hearts, and we encourage everyone to continue supporting their mission.

As we prepare to announce our next steps and future initiatives, we are reminded of the incredible impact we can achieve together. Thank you for being part of this journey. Here’s to making a difference – this year, and in the years to come.
